Ruby Eleanor Elisabeth was baptised today and welcomed into the Lord's family. Leigh, her father gave a short speech thanking the God Parents, family and friends for attending. He then made history for St Peter's by turning to Ruby's mother, Jacqueline, and proposing to her. She accepted! What a joyful occasion - we wish them well as they journey on together.
At the 10.00am service Elizabeth Page Barnes was baptised.
The congregation welcomed her family and friends to St Peter's today on this very special morning for her.
At the Quiz 'n' Chip evening the Choir team triumphed again (with 128 points) with the Youth Group getting the wooden spoon. The Charity raffle raise £210 for Ronald McDonald House who support the parents of children undergoing treatment in the John Radcliffe hospital.
The Annual Parochial Church Meeting saw an election for the two available places on the PCC with Mark Stanley and Alison Driscoll (left) being elected for a three year term. At the subsequent PCC meeting Craig Bull was elected as Treasurer and Frances Hall secretary (right).
The Palm Sunday service started with the blessing of palm crosses outside the Church
Pupils, teachers, parents and friends of Northbourne School filled the Church to overflowing for our Church school's Easter service. Palm crosses were blessed and the children read the story of Holy Week and heard the final installment of this term's God's Storyteller - "The Scream Box". The singing was absolutely brilliant and as Revd Hannah said, "The diction was excellent!"
Every evening from Sunday to Wednesday we walked the Stations of the Cross, pausing at each station to pray, read and meditate upon the Passion of our Lord.
On Maundy Thursday,the beginning of the Triduum, we were reminded of the mandatum novum given by Christ "Love one another as I have loved you". The ceremonial washing of the feet followed. This reminded us that Christ is amongst us as 'one who serves' and that Jesus' disciples are called to serve too. After celebrating the Last Supper the sanctuary and altars were ceremoniously stripped while psalm 51 was sung. Revd Hannah took the sacrament to the the Altar of Repose in our Garden of Gethsemane where a watch was held until midnight.

we held a Celebration of the Lord's Passion and ended the day with Compline at 9.00pm.
On Saturday morning a major spring clean took place to get ready for our joyful Easter celebrations,
starting with the Vigil and First Mass of Easter
Representatives of St Peter's were invited to celebrate the opening of The Art Room at Stephen Freeman School. This offers art as therapy to children and young people who are facing major challenges in their lives. It uses art to raise self esteem, confidence and independence. Some pupils from our Church school have benefited from this wonderful resource.
