Recent Events: January - February 2014


15th February

Another Quiz 'n' Chips evening, and another first. Congratulations to Over the Rainbow on their first ever win of the competition with 127 points - the beat their rivals by scoring maximum points on the last two rounds. The wooden spoon was won by the Muppets. (Click here for results). The charity raffle raised £152 for TRAIN (providing support for the young people in Didcot)


2nd February

At the 10.00am service the feast of Candlemass was celebrated, and Gillian Gamble (an ordinand from Cuddlestone College) preached her first sermon on the theme of waiting. The monthly Choral Evensong included Aylward's Responses, Mag and Nunc by Stanford in Bb and the anthem ‘O Thou, the central orb’ by Charles Wood.


18th January

Congratulations to the Quizlings on their first ever win of the Quiz 'n' Chips evening with 130 points. The wooden spoon was won by the Little Fishes. (Click here for results). The charity raffle raised £180 for SID (Soul in Didcot)


Melvyn Davies RIP
The funeral for Mel, a long standing member of St Peter’s, was held on Thursday 16th.


12th January

We welcomed the Rt. Revd. James Johnson, Hon Asst Bishop in the Diocese of Oxford, formerly Bishop of St Helena to our service to confirm Jessica, Lukundo, Sophie, Jane, Andrew and Olivia.

Please keep them in your prayers having taken this important step on their journey of faith.
