20th June
Despite Casual Acqaintances skill in winning the Quiz 'n' Chips evening, this was only enough to put them fifth in this season's ranking. That honour (and the trophy) went to Saints and Sinners who knocked The Choir (with their four consecutive wins) into second place. Although the team from Wednesday Church won the wooden spoon they did receive £182 from the charity raffle which was supporting them this evening. (See results since 2007).

14th June

It was a joy to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Revd Ernest Adley with his family and friends at a special Eucharist service at which he presided. His son Nicholas preached on John 14: 23-27 asking the congregation to reflect upon the Holy Spirit as we all gave thanks for Ernest's fifty years of priestly service.

Meanwhile two of his grandchildren as members of the choir joined in the worship singing 'Sacerdotes Domini' (Then did priests make offering) as the introit, an unaccompanied setting of the mass (Missa Brevis) by Palestrina and ending the service with 'A Clare Benediction' by John Rutter.

Following the service celebrations continued in the narthex as the Adley family invited the congregation to join them for refreshments, during which many gifts and stories were exchanged.
