18th August - Craft and Hobbies Fair

Talented youth group members at the craft fair. Chloe makes all the bags herself and is raising money for her school trip away to China. Adrian makes the paper flowers as a passtime and is now making paper dragons as he becomes more skilled.   Kirsty


16-18 August -‘Holiday at Home’

We are grateful to Northbourne School who made us very welcome again, and on Thursday morning we competed against each other in a variety of games and activities. In the afternoon we watched Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines with much laughter and plenty of tea and cake.

On Friday we enjoyed a day at Millet’s Farm. It was warm and sunny. We had a good lunch. Some of us did some useful shopping and some sat in the sun eating ice-cream.   Jenny

5th August

Ernest and Sylvia Adley celebrated their Golden Wedding with Ernest celebrating the Eucharist of the Transfiguration at the 10.00am service. The Preacher was Nicholas Adley, now in training at Ripon Hall, Cuddesdon.         Photos: Samuel


28th July

The wedding of Timothy Coutts to chorister Samantha Matthews took place today. The service was conducted by the former vicar the Revd Edward Carter who left last February to become Canon Theologian at Chelmsford Cathedral.                                       Picture: Clem


22nd July

It was our great pleasure to welcome Bishop Andrew (Bishop of Reading) to not only officiate at both our services, but also to join us for parish breakfast where he told us something of his life in the Church, from choirboy to bishop.


14th July

Despite the rain and overcast skies, our 'Summer' Fete raised over £1,100. Thanks to all those involved.

   
 
    

1st July

At the 10.00am service Daisy-Mai and Bailey Jeffrey were baptised, and after the service, a number of us stayed to mark St Peter's day with a bring-and-share lunch, at which we enjoyed both food and fellowship. Clement C-R
